This weekend, like the last, was action-packed. The programmers have fixed all the software bugs we encountered while programming the chassis, so now we are fully ready for both autonomous and teleoperated driving! As for autonomous - we can place the first game-piece in under 2.5 seconds! We've also programmed a dashboard to display the robot's position in the field, so we can see in real time if the robot is doing what it's supposed to. Next, we will be working on programming our robot's vision.
The mechanics team has completed the elevator design. The assembled elevator is just over 70 cm from tall, with a total extension of over 1.8 meters. The elevator is only 13 cm wide, which minimizes weight. We've also managed to create a second prototype (no longer made of wood) for the intake, which we will use to test the correct angle.
Finally, we made a wooden version of the reef, which we will use to test our elevator.
