Greetings from America!
After 17 hours of travel, we finally landed in Minneapolis! The day was far from over, we drove directly from the airport to our partner school Breck. We settled in their workshop and set about rebuilding Libuše from her travel form (that being a speerate chassis, turret, intake and magazine, spread over a half dozen suitcases). That worked out well and we went to bed with the idea of hope on Wednesday morning.
It wasn't quite that immediate, because we still had to make bumpers. In the afternoon, however, everything was done and the drivers and programmers could finally move to the Breck training field. There, we only had to solve a few minor issues (mostly caused by human error rather than code malfunctions) and burned one axel (don't worry, we have a spare) and we managed to get Libuše moving and shooting.
On Wednesday, we will do further testing and driver training in the morning, and in the afternoon, we will take the robot and tools directly to the arena. On Thursday, we'll be submiting Libuše to a safety inspection and then some training matches, where our drivers will, for the first time, actually compete with Libuše. So keep your fingers crossed for us and stay tuned for more news.
